This 2001 Porsche Boxster 2.7 has just turned over to 90,000 miles and maintains near faultless collector-quality example of an engaging and authentic mid-engined sports car. It is powered by a 2.7-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine producing 217bhp, driven through the rear wheels via a slick five-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows a mere 90,266 miles from new, which is fully warranted. Benefitting from the 2000 model year upgrades, with the smoother fly-by-wire throttle and improved mechanical reliability, this Boxster is a useable and exciting modern classic. Writing about the 986 model, Porsche specialist Peter Morgan says the 2.7-litre Boxster is “arguably the definitive everyday Porsche - its lively throttle response and supreme road confidence are suited to a wide range of driving abilities.”
First registered in March 2001, this car has been impeccably maintained by nine previous keepers. While the majority of service history has been at Porsche dealers , it has most recently been serviced by MB Autos of Byfleet at 85,699 miles.
The mileage does not represent the bodywork, as it remains in outstanding condition. It is finished in the original factory coat Guardsman Red, which is immaculate. The only imperfections noted by us are a few almost imperceptible chips in the paint on the front near side wing.
The black fabric hood is in great shape, and the folding mechanism works perfectly., The original 17-inch silver alloy wheels are unmarked.
The black carpeting, leather panels on the door cards and all of the interior plastics are in equally impressive condition, and all of the switchgear works as it should. The car is equipped with climate control, along with the CDR-22 audio system. At the front and rear, the luggage areas appear to be barely used, and the Porsche retains its space-saver spare wheel, as well as the factory-supplied tools.
Accompanying the car is all of the original literature and the book pouch, including driver’s manual, stamped maintenance record and stereo user guide, miscellaneous receipts and two keys.
