1984 Porsche 911 Turbo (930)

• Rare Paint-to-Sample (PTS) Rubinrot Metallic with bespoke interior
• Single ownership from 1988 to 2015
• Fully comprehensive overhaul
Here we have a very rare and beautifully presented example of the coveted Porsche 911 Turbo (930). Originally ordered to South African specification, the car was collected new from Stuttgart by its first owner before being brought to the United Kingdom, where it has remained ever since.
We have been familiar with this car since the late 1980s, when it was purchased by one of our long-standing suppliers in the motor trade. He would go on to own the car from 1988 through to 2015, maintaining it with great care throughout his stewardship. In 2015, the car was acquired by an engineer and founding proprietor of Southern Classics, a specialist renowned for award-winning Jaguar restorations and a respected associate of ours for many years.
Following his purchase, the new owner commissioned a comprehensive rebuild and restoration, documented by an extensive history file detailing substantial expenditure and meticulous attention to detail.
Works Carried Out (Summary)
• Full glass-out respray in original Rubinrot Metallic, with all rubbers replaced
• Engine refresh, including ARP head studs supplied by Tuthill Porsche, and uprated turbo
• Gearbox rebuild by Tuthill Porsche
• Stainless steel exhaust system fitted
• New clutch kit and flywheel
• New fuel tank installed
• Full interior retrim, including carpets and headlining
• Comprehensive chassis setup and tuning by Tuthills, invoiced at over £10,000
The accompanying history file provides detailed documentation of the car’s restoration and ongoing maintenance, together with the original book packs and a warranted MOT history.
Presented today in its striking Rubinrot Metallic finish with a beautifully executed interior, this 930 Turbo represents a rare opportunity to acquire, a freshly overhauled example of Porsche’s iconic turbocharged 911 — a car as exhilarating to drive as it is significant in the marque’s history.
