1973 MG Midget -SOLD-

When it was introduced, the MG Midget was essentially a MkII Austin-Healey Sprite dressed in a slightly different suit. By reviving the 'Midget' name, BMC paid homage to MG’s pre-war legacy of small, nimble sports cars. The early models were powered by a 948cc A-Series engine with twin SU carburettors, but by the time the MkIII debuted in 1966, the engine had evolved—first to 1,098cc and then to 1,275cc, offering improved performance.

Between 1961 and 1979, a total of 226,001 Midgets were produced, with 100,246 of them being MkIII models, making this version one of the most sought-after.

Presented in striking orange coachwork with black trim. While it is evident that the car has undergone restoration at some stage, there is no significant documentation to support this.

Recent Maintenance (Within the Last 800 Miles):

• New rear tyres

• Borg & Beck clutch kit (cover, plate, and release bearing)

• Clutch master and slave cylinders

• Oil and fluid change, including new filters

• Replacement rear wheel cylinders

• New electric fuel pump

• Front shock absorbers

• Carburettor adjustment and timing reset

• New spark plugs

• Replacement fuel sender and fuel filter

This charming entry-level classic is an ideal choice for an enthusiast seeking a project with light maintenance requirements.
