This 1965 Volvo Amazon was built as a rally car from new by the first owner, and as far as we know it was never used to rally. The second owner bought it around 1967 and owned up to late 2015 when the current owner found it just outside Paris and brought it back to the UK in early 2016.
It had been dry stored for 30+ years due to the owner having a family and company car…it has just gone around the clock 100,000km (approx 62,000 miles) which considering it was stored for so long we believe to be true.
The rare dash panel has all Jaeger dials and all but the oil temp gauge work, it has Marchal fog and spot lights integrated into the front grill and other period features.
Since arriving in the UK it has been fitted with the correct overdrive and a new Simmons sports exhaust. The twins carbs were recently rebuilt and the car has had a new MOT (Feb).
We had added a few photos taken in the late 60's with the second owner and as you can see the car is pretty much the same as it is today. The short video was taken during it's time with the previous owner in France before coming to the UK.
