Introduced in 1954 at the Earls Court Motor Show, the AC Aceca fastback, the new model shared the ladder-framed chassis, and the majority of steering and running gear with the Ace roadster. A lightweight aluminium sports car initially powered by the AC Weller derived six-cylinder engine, in 1956 Bristol engines could be equipped and increase performance The refined interior of the coupe version added a dash of comfort to the minimally equipped Ace roadster.

This motorcar in particular ‘BE808’ was delivered to agent R. F Twnyham, Market Harborough on the 14th of September 1961. In the specification ‘Princess Blue with Red Leather’ and with engine ‘100D2 1116’
It was then delivered to the first owner Mrs E. P Spehs of Oxenden House. It passed through six owners smaller short term owners until it was purchased by Mr Peter Rampton of Hambledon in September 1982.
In Peter’s ownership ‘BE808’ was subject to a thorough no expense-spared restoration spanning over fifteen years and completed in the late 1990’s. After completion, the AC has been well cared for with continuous servicing and upgrades most recently including uprated competition rear hubs in 2016. Mr Rampton had a collection of AC motorcars and was determined to drive them, to maintain his collection he purchased a factory replacement from AC Cars. This engine ‘100D2 1145’ was later installed into the Aceca.

The Aceca drives phenomenally, with more than adequate engine power, it pushes to 100 mph comfortably, with direct steering and good stopping power meaning it's perfectly usable in modern traffic. It has recently passed through our AC heritage works service.
