A rare opportunity to acquire an unmolested 325i with one family ownership for over 28 years.
Chassis No: WBAAA12070AE52395
Engine No: 22384542
Registration No: G675 WOO
Previous owners: 3 before current.
First registered on 01/08/1989
Mileage:167,000
Compact rear-wheel drive saloons were in short supply in the 1980's and consequently, the E30 quickly stood out as something special, being lightweight, refined, and offering unparalleled driving pleasure. With the success of the M3, BMW capitalised on the demand for more sporting E30s, and in 1986 gave the market the ‘325i Sport’, a 2-door only model with numerous ‘M-Tech’ upgrades from BMW's Motorsport Division.
These included an M Technic body-kit and boot spoiler. M Technic suspension (15mm lower springs and Boge M Technic shock absorbers) and a 5-speed ZF close-ratio gearbox. The car is powered by the legendary M20 2494cc straight-six engine giving 171bhp and 164 lb-ft of torque, good for 132 mph and 0-62 mph time of 9.9 seconds, decently quick but it's really the whole driving experience that impresses so much.
This example is a 1989 BMW E30 325i Sport (Tech-2), UK-supplied, right-hand drive car supplied by Sewell BMW to MR H Jones of Ware, Hertfordshire. Finished in Delphin Metallic and first registered on 1st August 1989. The car was under Mr Jones care until May 1991 when it passed to Mr Irvine- Fynn and has been under his families ownership since. During this time a Hayward & Scott full sports exhaust was fitted and provides an exhilarating tone as you’d expect.
Our workshop undertook the works of recommissioning the 325i. We attended to the very little metalwork that was needed on the drivers side and passenger footwells, these were the only affected areas. The car is solid throughout due to being dry stored its whole life. We carried a full service out including all fluids, plugs and filters. At this time we decided it was appropriate to replace the discs and pads on all four corners.
Within the cabin it is evident that the car had been cared for over the years, all the original cloth interior is in great condition, as with all plastic trims and dashboard there is no cracking. The exterior Delphin Metallic paintwork is very good and is not representative of the mileage.
The history file includes very early correspondence from Mr Jones and Sewell BMW, BMW Books and MOT history. Servicing of this car was carried out by Mr Irvine-Fynn during his ownership as an avid car collector and restorer he was more than capable.
